Autumnal hues

The northern hemisphere is experiencing autumn (or fall) and London is no exception. The British climate is a maritime one and therefore isn't as harsh in winter as in the US, occasionally the continental anticyclone systems do drift far enough eastwards and we get Siberia-like winter.

London in the autumn is my favorite season, due to the wonderful colours of the trees, the crisp chilly air and clear blue skies, like in the photo above. However, the drawback is that the sun sets early, about 4:30pm and darkness falls by 5pm. Photographically speaking, the bright sunshine and low sun makes for long drawn shadows (when the sun is out, that is!) which makes nice abstract images if one cares to look around. I intend to grab some Christmas shoppers and street scenes in this light soon. There is a seasonal ice rink installed by the Science Museum grounds in South Kensington with pretty Christmas lights illuminating skaters, which I might go take a peek one day!

Hi, came here several times for updates on new pictures you might have. Always an inspiration to see great picture taken at a local area, and it so happen that you were refering to South Kensington, where I used to live last year!

Will be waiting for your fall pictures as well, all the best :)

Great to see you here, where are you staying now? Are you a student at Imperial College?

§pinzer said...

I'm based at Euston now. Just graduated from Imperial College, and now waiting for replies from job applications.

Other than that I'm just looking around for part time jobs and generally socializing and taking pictures =)

Oh by the way, have you heard of Syed Abdullah? He studied photography in London in the 1960s (which is quite a while ago, I realised).

There's a guy who approached me with the idea of having a photo exhibition called 'The Residency Years: A special tribute by Syed Abdullah' in London. What do you think about it, and how realistic is this idea?

Hello Chris, you in to photography too? Very good form of self expression. Euston area is very central, what jobs are you applying for? What did you qualify in? Congratulations for graduating from Imperial. You must have done engineering or medicine?

Hi Chris, have not heard of him, but will do some searching. Thanks
